Roger Moore was my favourite James Bond, he never took himself to seriously and, when I heard he had died recently, I decided to treat myself to his Bond films. While the irate Sheriff is huge fun, he does not distract from the spectacular speed boat chase.
Boat chases do appear in some of the other bond films but this was the best. I personally really enjoyed the imaginative voodoo scenes, but for young or sensitive viewers these may be disturbing. It is interesting to see how different NYC looks now compared to 1973.

I keep watching these old Bond films because I assume at east some of them must be decent, and I keep getting disappointed. While some of the "high tech" spyware featured in the film might seem sadly quaint by today's standards, I think it is also a bit charming because it was novel in it's time. as a preteen I grew up watching James Bond movies almost every Sunday night on a 13 channel TV.My dads choice of course but its one of the few times we "bonded". Plus, I enjoy the theme song by Paul McCartney & Wings. Buying them separately was cheaper than buying a set. She is my best Bond girl.

The Blu ray is a good transfer and is better than a DVD , but it is taken from the already good restoration done on the Ultimate Edition DVD , so it’s marginally better.
