We were lucky to also be there on the night of a food and wine festival, highly recommend it!As Trafalgar Square is to London, so Place Carnot is to Carcassonne- not only a focal point of urban planning, but a space for community events. The waiter is nice, serves quickly plus the view...We were hoping to visit our favourite Carcassonne restaurant - Bistro Blasco in Place Carnot unfortunately it was closed on Mondays. For the first time in a very long time, I got a Croque that was not of the pre-packaged freezer type and very good it was too.

Seems the menu is just for show and whats on...We have often sat at this excellent cafe to watch the world go by and have a coffee or (particularly recommended!) Had veggie burger which was just a potato hash brown, but was dressed with flavours and the chips were fab. Loses...I decided to have breakfast in this place for the second time. Great to have a coffee and just people watch.This square full of tourist trap cafes and bars not offering value for money, similar menu in the all better choices are off the square.
